Khaniqahi Nimatullahi Publications
Sufism as practiced in the Nimatullahi order emphasizes practical expression, removed from doctrine and dogmas.
Khaniqah Nimatullahi Publications presents works that illuminate the
Reality experienced by the great Sufis on the path of Love, in
accordance with the capacity and interests of the reader.
Many works published under KNP are English
translations from the original Persian by Dr. Javad Nurbakhsh. Present
are the insights and commentaries of the masters, frequently drawn from
sources otherwise unavailable.
The Pathprovides perhaps the most complete and
detailed account available of the aim and method, the living practice
of Sufism in the contemporary world.
A series of discourses
on Sufism to present the basic practices and principles in such simple language and such a straight forward manner that
all Sufis, no matter what their background, would be able to follow and
understand them.
Sufism Is Not A Part Of Any Religion
Esoteric1 knowledge (inner knowledge) always exists before or above orthodox religion (exoteric2 knowledge). All religions are mostly proclaiming the truth and teaching exoteric knowledge. The core of all religion is esoteric, so Sufism is the core and essence of all religions.
1 - Esoteric knowledge refers to the
non-verbal seeking of the Truth which is inaccessible mentally and
intellectually. When attained, it cannot be forgotten. 2 - Exoteric knowledge is verbal
and can be understood mentally and intellectually (rules and
regulations). When learned, it can be forgotten. It is the appearance
of esoteric knowledge.
Poem: The Master, by Dr. Javad Nurbakhsh
"The Master liberates
travelers from the dark night of self-worship and brings them into the
brilliance of that clear daylight, which in this world is the paradise
of the selfless witnessing of the Divine Truth."
Dr. Javad Nurbakhsh, Excerpt from "The Path", p.106
How is it possible to realize Perfection?
"Man is dominated by his self's desires and fears. Those who are ensnared in these habitual impulses are out of harmony with the Divine Nature, and thus ill.
As a result of this illness, feelings become
disturbed and accordingly, thoughts and perceptions become unsound.
Thus, one's faith as well as one's knowledge of the Truth strays from
what is real.
"In order to follow the way to Perfection, one must first rectify these
incorrect thought processes and transmute one's desires and fears. This
is accomplished by coming into harmony with the Divine Nature. This way
of harmony (the Spiritual Path) consists of spiritual poverty,
devotion, and the continuous, selfless remembrance of God. In this way,
one comes to perceive the Truth as it really is."
